“I imagine what I make, I make what I imagine.”

Tsering

Tsering is a multidisciplinary artist and art teacher based in Singapore. With an  interest in video and mixed media installation, she uses the imaginative value of art  as a medium to make magic.

As someone born and raised in Singapore, I have always grappled with connecting  to my Tibetan heritage. Borders We Cross leverages technology to traverse the  psychological and physical borders that we often cannot cross. Through this  imaginative fusion of my father’s homeland with the familiar Singaporean  landscapes of my childhood, I hope to bridge these distinct spaces to symbolise the  fluid and adaptable nature of cultural identity. Growing up, I often wondered why we  long for a country we have never stepped foot into. This is a homage to navigating  our multiple identities and histories, without being confined by the past.
