The origin of this mixed media artwork is a traditional Thangka painting, depicting His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, on his rightful throne inside the Potala in Tibet. Although the Thangka itself was burned by the artist, a digital copy remained which he used to print a limited edition of posters. With these posters Karma has been experimenting: mixing photo transfers and gold paintings to create one-of-a-kind collages, expressing his vision and sincere wish of His Holiness returning to a Free and Independent Tibet.
