BASED IN DHARAMSALA

We are an artists’ collective

Our mission is to show the multitude colours of Tibetan contemporary arts.

Our journey &

Our Story

In July 2023 we hosted our first exhibition in The Old Tibet Museum in the temple complex of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama. The exhibition was dedicated to our late friend and artist Jigme Choedak and was held within the 49 days after his untimely demise.

Khadhok's Mission

We want to offer a dedicated space for Tibetan contemporary visual artists, particularly emerging talents, to give a platform for their creations. In doing so, we aspire to foster an artist community spanning diverse age groups, encouraging mutual support and connections.

Why ‘Khadhok’?

The meaning of ‘Kha-dhok’ ( ཁ་དོག། ) is colour in Tibetan. While the physical nature of colours may be similar, the true essence lies within each person’s interpretation. This amplifies the joy of Khadhok, as it becomes a space where diverse colours and artistic approaches coexist, uniting under one roof.

I am a Tibetan visual artist based in Dharamsala, India. I love to break rules. Since there is no space for young Tibetan artists, I want to be a part of Khadhok to create it.
